HRH. The Duke of Cornwall, accompanied by the Duchess visited Mount Stewart on 22nd May following the extensive renovations that have been completed in the house & some changes in the garden. They were greeted by the Director General of the National Trust, Dame Helen Ghosh, the Chairman of the Regional Advisory Board, Mr Roy Bailie and Regional Director Mrs Heather Thompson. They later were welcomed to the private saloon by Lady Rose Lauritzen & her husband Peter together with their son, Dr Fredrick Lauritzen & his wife Dr Delphine Lauritzen & baby son Alexander. Lady Rose is the granddaughter of the 7th Marquess and Marchioness of Londonderry who were the owners of Mount Stewart until it was acquired by the National Trust. The Prince enjoyed a quick tour around the principal rooms and a short visit to the gardens.
